House of the Dead Overkill: The Lost Reels shoots onto Android and iOS

It’s time to “suffer like G did” once again as the House of the Dead franchise has finally made its way to smartphones with House of the Dead Overkill: The Lost Reels.

This is a quasi-sequel to the Wii’s House of the Dead Overkill, where you play as the same characters, Agent G and Detective Washington, in a game with a ridiculously over-the-top grindhouse movie feel to it. And I say ‘quasi-sequel’ as the game technically takes place during the same time as the Wii original but, as the title suggests, these are the ‘lost’ reels/levels from the original game, so it’s just adding on to the original story – let’s hope it can do it justice.

Lost Reels is said to feature a Story Mode with “‘non-stop shooting action” across three locations, each with four levels and a boss (so that’s 12 levels). And there’s the now obligatory ‘Survivor Mode’, which features wave after wave of zombies mutants (yeah apparently the ‘dead’ in the title no longer counts – they are mutants and not the sexy X-Men type).

In terms of arsenal there are seven different weapons, including: magnum, SMG, assault rifle and even a mini-gun. All the weapons are customisable using in-game money. Lovely.

Anyway, the game is available for Android and iOS devices right now (still not enough WindowsPhone love, SEGA)!

We should, hopefully, have a review up very soon.
