Okamura to become new SEGA president
SEGA has announced some big changes to its executive staff today. As of April 1, Hideki Okamura will become the new president of SEGA of Japan, while the current president, Naoya Tsurumi, will become the senior managing director of SEGA Sammy Holdings.
Okamura is currently the president of TMS Entertainment, an animation studio that’s been a SEGA Sammy subsidiary since 2005. TMS is currently working on the upcoming Hero Bank and has previously worked on other SEGA titles like Sonic X.
Okamura joined SEGA in 1987 and has served in several executive roles, including the division director for the Saturn and Dreamcast.
Filling Okamura’s vacancy will be the current president and CEO of SEGA Toys, Yoshiharu Suzuki, while Sasaki Akihito will become the new president of SEGA Toys.
