Ryo Hazuki statue now available for pre-order

We reported a few days ago that First 4 Figures was teasing a new range of SEGA statuettes, starting with our favourite sailor-loving martial artist, Ryo Hazuki, from Shenmue.

Well the statue is now available for pre-order from F4F:

Standing at 1/6 scale, and 12 inches in height, cast in high quality polystone and painted by hand, he is stood in a ‘ready for action’ stance, ready to take on any challengers as he walks the streets of Yokosuka.

Ryo comes in two versions: the ‘standard’ one and ‘Exclusive’. The main differences seem to be that Ryo is is slightly different poses and the Exclusive version looks a bit lighter in colour (but that could just be the pictures provided) and also the Exclusive model has Ryo standing on the Phoenix Mirror.

Now, if you have to asked what the Phoenix Mirror is – then I suggest you don’t buy this and give a real fan of the franchise a chance to buy one – because the Exclusive statue is limited to only 350 world wide. The standard edition is also limited, but to 750 statues. So, I would advise everyone to get in quick.

Then again, I think it might depend how big a collector of gaming statues you are, because owning one of these bad boys will set you back $169.99 for the standard model and $184.99 for the Exclusive model. I’ve seen far more expensive models in my time, but this still isn’t particularly cheap either – so I would imaging that mainly big collectors and true Shenmue fans will be gunning for this.

And if you are one of those collectors or fans, then head on over to F4F and pre-order either the standard model or the Exclusive model. The statue is said to be released Q4 2013.
