Steamforged Games, the studio behind the official tabletop game based on Dark Souls, announced a collaboration with Capcom and that Resident Evil 2 is coming in board-game form. It’s stated for a Kickstarter campaign sometime this fall. The Dark Souls crossover tabletop game raised about $4.76 million on Kickstarter several months ago.
Capcom had the following to say:
“With the Resident Evil brand being Capcom’s most successful IP of all time, we’re delighted to share our support for this exciting new release and
are looking forward to seeing the end product from Steamforged Games.”
Back in 2000, Capcom and Sega partnered and brought Resident Evil Code: Veronica to the Sega Dreamcast. Shortly after, Capcom ported Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis to Sega’s final console.
On August 12, 2015, Capcom’s producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi announced that a Resident Evil 2 remake was in development, which is expected to release sometime in 2018. The remake will most likely appear on PS4, XONE, and Steam.
