Check out the first hour of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap

In case you were living under a rock and missed it – LizardCube’s remake of the Master System and Game Gear classic, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, launched yesterday on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

If you haven’t picked it up yet and are perhaps still on the fence, then, in association with our sister publication, Mega Visions Magazine, you can see the first hour of gameplay, where we play through the introductory parts of the game – taking on two bosses and unlocking access to the rest of the world.

Despite boasting completely overhauled visuals, music and even a new character, the game sticks incredibly close to the original game – even so far as to include the original 8-bit graphics and sounds, that can be switched in on the side.

Plus, if you want, you can still enter the old passcodes from the original game – a couple of which are shown in the video – to give you a quick head-start in the game.

Enjoy!
