Reviews are calling Persona 5 “A hallmark of excellence”
With a little less than a week from Persona 5’s release, the reviews from major websites like IGN and Gamespot have given their take of what the new game in the Megami Tenesi series has to offer.
IGN: 9.7 – “A gorgeous, vibrant world and captivating story make Persona 5 a new gold standard for Japanese RPGs.”
Destructoid: 9 – “A hallmark of excellence. It may have some flaws, but they are negligible to what is otherwise a supreme title.”
Gamesradar+: 5/5 – “The Phantom Thieves are coming to steal your heart, but you’ll give it to them gladly.”
Polygon: 9.0 – “Persona 5 is an excellent, stylish entry into the next generation for Atlus’ biggest franchise.”
Gamespot: 9 – “Within Persona 5 is a complex set of interconnected gameplay mechanics, and in almost every aspect Atlus has executed on its vision exceptionally… It’s a refined, effortlessly stylish RPG that will be talked about for years to come.”
Game Informer: 9.25 – “Persona 5’s well-crafted story, exciting combat, and deep systems make it my favorite entry in the series – and the best Japanese RPG in years.”
All of the reviews praise Persona 5 for for the story, combat, gameplay mechanics and are thanking Atlus for creating one of the best Japanese RPGs in recent years. Persona 5 is a sure hit with the critics are looks to be so with long time fans of the series.
Persona 5 will be released for the PS3 and PS4 on April 4, 2017.
