Someone created a prototype of Night Trap for mobile phones

In 1992, SEGA and Digital Pictures released a game called Night Trap, which featured over 90 min. of FMV clips. At the time, the game was controversial due to a number of scenes that some considered to be “shameful” “ultra-violent.” As a direct result of the backlash, SEGA was taken to a joint Senate Judiciary and Government Affairs Committee hearing on video game violence. This game and Mortal Kombat led to the creation of the ESRB rating.

One fan has decided to bring back Night Trap and make it accessible on mobile phones. Based on the video, Night Trap certainly looks much cleaner on mobile phones, especially with the user’s own user interface. Now Gamer reached out to former CEO of Digital Pictures and copyright owner of Night Trap Tom Zito to see if he was involved in this project, and he has confirmed that he is not.

What do you think of a mobile version of Night Trap? Sound off in the comments below!
