SEGA sold over 350,000 Mega Drive/Genesis games on Steam

Last month, SEGA released a great program called the Mega Drive Classics Hub on Steam. This awesome update puts players “in the room of an early 90s SEGA fan” and includes games like Shinobi III, Space Harrier II, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, and more. In addition to the retro look, the Hub also supports the Steam Workshop, which allows for fans to go to town with hilarious and creative mods.

According to the latest report from SEGA, over 350,000 Mega Drive/Genesis games have been sold on Steam. SEGA released a statement along with those sales figures, expressing their gratitude towards the fans.

“350,000 sales is a phenomenal achievement for content which is over 20 years old! It shows that there’s still a huge following out for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis, reinvigorated by the fantastic community of modders out there uploading great content.”

Have you guys tried out the Mega Drive Classics Hub yet? Let us know in the comments below!
