Racing Apex Kickstarter on hold, work begins on playable demo
As you might be able tell, we’re kind of excited about Racing Apex.
It looks like a really fun project, combining different types of racing games with a flat shaded polygonal style, similar to Virtua Racing. Most of the info about the game has been released to the public, minus the one question – “Is there a demo or build out?”
Developer Lucky Mountain Games has announced that they are working on a demo now, but the catch is that the Kickstarter will be on hold in the meantime. This email was sent to all Kickstarter backers of the Apex project.
“Dear Backers,
We’re currently working on a gameplay demo of Racing Apex, so we’re putting the brakes on the Kickstarter campaign for the moment. We believe that when people play the gameplay demo, more racers will join us in helping to shape Racing Apex!
We are immensely grateful to all of you who have pledged, voted on Steam, shared our campaign, and suggested cars you would like to see in the Racing Apex world. Your support and feedback has been invaluable.”
As it seems, the developers are going with the “let people play it first and then decide” approach, which makes sense considering it’s such an out-of-the-blue project. As for now, we will keep you posted on the demo information. You can also hit up the Racing Apex site, as well as following the game’s Twitter account.
