The Sakura Taisen (aka Sakura Wars) series is turning 20 years old this year (released originally on Sept 27th, 1996 for the SEGA Saturn in Japan). As part of the road to the 20th Anniversary celebrations, a Sakura Taisen Art Festival 2015 will be happening from February 5th to the 7th in Osaka Japan. The exhibition will gather 30 pieces from the games, and will have the presence of Matsubara Hidenori, its artist, with a special talk plus meet and greet on February 7th. Sakura Wars, is a SEGA and RED Entertainment franchise that spawned 20 games (5 main, 7 side story games, 8 spin-offs), an anime series, 7 animated movies, 6 light novels, a manga series, and 16 on stage musical plays, and of course, to this day is very popular among Japanese SEGA fans.
