Duke Nukem 3D finally coming to SEGA Genesis
Brazil is one of those magical lands for SEGA Nerds, where there seems to be dozens upon dozens of classic SEGA games released in that mystical country that never made it to North America or Europe.
One of those games was Duke Nukem 3D, which was released by Tec Toy in 1998 on the Genesis/Mega Drive. The game is a very simplified port of the popular PC game, and unfortunately, never made it to our shores … until now.
Piko Interactive has obtained the license from 3D Realms for the original Genesis port and plans to release the game in a few weeks.
“Duke Nukem 3D Genesis features a simplified game engine to meet the SEGA Genesis limitations,” Piko wrote on its website. “The game contains the second of the original games three episodes only. This episode is called Lunar Apocalypse, and the levels are redesigned to better suit the new game engine.”
You can buy just the cart for $39.99 or spend $54.99 for the cart, a high-quality, Genesis-style box and color instruction manual. You can pre-order the game on Piko’s website here.
