SEGA’s best five mobile games of 2014
SEGA has been a leading developer in the world of mobile gaming for some time now, and that did not change in 2014. They have a wide variety of games, so it’s easy for everyone in the family to find the perfect game to play on their smartphone.
But, with so many games out there, how do you decide which one to play? Well, if you need some help, here are five SEGA games that topped the list in 2014.
1. Football Manager
Anyone who likes watching or playing soccer is going to love this game. Take the reins of your favorite team and guide them to victory. While the mobile version of Football Manager 2015 was slimmed down for the platform, it still remains a fun and interactive game. Plus, to help with those essential transfers, you can find a lot of online guides to help you dominate the footballing world.
2. Crazy Taxi: City Rush
No Sega gaming list is ever complete without the latest Crazy Taxi game. It was originally introduced in arcades in 1999 before it was transferred over to the Sega Dreamcast in 2000, and now it has now made its way onto the mobile screen. A certain amount of nostalgia is present in Crazy Taxi: City Rush, where you race the clock to give rides to as many people as possible. The best part is, there aren’t any police to worry about so your driving can be as horrendous as a teenager’s first failed driving test. Plus, one of the charms of Crazy Taxi is that you can pick it up for just a couple minutes or get addicted and play.
3. Dragon Coins
There has to be a monster-based game to complete this list. Although Dragon Coins has some similarities to Pokemon, the battle system is very different. In addition to leveling and transforming your characters, you can stack up large combo chains in interactive ways, which keeps you on your toes (or fingertips). After each battle you receive gems that are cracked open to reveal more monsters that can be either added to your team or sacrificed to make your existing monsters stronger.
And, with so many different monsters to choose from, this is a game you shouldn’t pass up.
4. Sonic Dash
Sonic can never really go out of style. The fastest hedgehog that ever was is still breaking records; however, in Sonic Dash you won’t be racing a clock, you’ll be going for distance. With an endlessly generated raceway, guide Sonic through treacherous obstacles including spikes, hurdles, gaps and upside down loops. Pick up rings to increase your score and see how far you can go. Then, compare your scores with others.
5. Jet Set Radio
Another one for all those Dreamcast lovers out there, Jet Set Radio is a throwback to a different era of gaming. With a timer counting down to the end of the round, rollerblade the streets and tag up buildings, subway cars and billboards while pulling backflips, grinds and 360s. Increase your scores by landing better tricks and tagging hard to reach spots. Similar to Crazy Taxi, this game is easy to pick up, but difficult to put down.
