Read this deleted Christmas poem from ‘Console Wars’ book
Our buddy Blake Harris, the author of Console Wars, just published a wonderfully delightful spin on ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas at Huffington Post.
Harris wrote that the poem was actually a deleted chapter from the hardcover version of the book. “Although it’s unlike any other chapter from the book (and certainly unlike what’s typically found in non-fiction stories), it’s a fun little ditty that I hope will add merriment to your holiday!” he wrote.
‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
The toys lay unplayed with; even Mickey Mouse
Colorful stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that a Genesis or SNES soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of Sonic n’ Mario danced in their heads.
They’d begged for Sega or Nintendo when in Santa’s lap
And anything else would simply be useless crap.
