After Burner Climax might be delisted from PSN/XBLA this month

It appears that the days of being able to purchase After Burner Climax on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade are quickly coming to an end.

Self-proclaimed “XBLA watchdog” lifelower tweeted that the game will be delisted from both services on Dec. 24.

Retro Collect surmises the delisting could be attributed to an expiring license from Boeing and Northrop Gruman, which own the rights to the planes used in the game. If it is an expiring licensing issue, we assume the iOS and Android ports of the game will also be taken down, as well.

After Burner Climax was originally released in arcades in 2006 but was ported to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and released on April 21, 2010. It was later released on iOS and Android on Feb. 7, 2013, and March 30, 2013, respectively.

You can still purchase the game on XBLA and PSN for $9.99 and iOS and Android for only $.99.
