After all the sexy SEGA news that came out of the pre-E3 Nintendo Direct presentation today, this piece of newsis like the cherry on top – SEGA is releasing batch of new classic Game Gear titles to the 3DS’ Virtual Console. Which is awesome.
The following titles have been confirmed to be released on the Western eShop in the near future:

- Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
- G-LOC: Air Battles
- Shining Force II: The Sword of Hajya
- Sonic Blast (currently available on European eShop)
- Sonic Drift 2
- Sonic Labyrinth (currently available on European eShop)
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Tails Adventure
- Vampire: Master of Darkness
I’ve been a big fan of the Game Gear since I got one for my 8th birthday. I’d probably argue that it’s still my favourite handheld console, so seeing some cracking titles – especially the Sonic collection and Shining Force II – coming to a modern handheld is just fantastic.
