[EDIT] Shenmue III’s logo updated

Latest Kickstarter update reveals updated logo, character art & gamescom 2017 plans

Yu Suzuki and his team at YSNet have updated the Shenmue III Kickstarter page, revealing a new version of the game’s logo along with some artwork for new characters in development (see gallery below).

[EDIT] The updated logo design isn’t technically brand new, it’s the same design as the original Shenmue and Shenmue II logo, but replaces the more generic-styled placeholder logo – which is said to be a criticism Yu Suzuki and his team faced from the community since Shenmue III was first announced. While it might seem like a small thing to change, it is good see the original logo making a return, as it helps to keep Shenmue III more in-line with the rest of the franchise.

The YSNet team updated the Kickstarter page, saying:

We would like to express our gratitude for the many comments we received on our previous report. From constructive criticism to kind words of encouragement, we were touched by every single one of your comments. Yu Suzuki and the entire Shenmue III Team are more determined than ever to bring to the Shenmue III that will live up to your expectations.

Yes, Shenmue III has updated its title logo. Taking your comments into consideration, Yu Suzuki and the team gave the title logo another hard look and decided to update the logo with this design.

We have been hard at work developing the inhabitants who will set the stage of adventure in Shenmue III. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect!

Plus, great news! It looks like YSNet will be bringing Shenmue III, in some form at least, to Germany’s gamescom 2017 event. Full information of what will be there is yet to be revealed, but after no sign of Shenmue at E3 a few weeks ago, it seems like we will get some juicy Shenmue III at an event this year after all:

We will be attending Germany’s mid-August gaming event gamescom 2017! While we are still working out the details with our partners, we plan to show our newest movie clips, share the latest updates and even make some new announcements.
