Internet Arcade lets you play classic SEGA arcade games in your browser

The Internet Archive is pretty much the best thing ever. It just got even better as The Internet Arcade was just added to the website, enabling you to play 900 classic arcade games right in your browser.

What’s more, there are quite a few SEGA titles available, like Golden Axe, Hang-On, Space Harrier, Flicky, Congo Bongo and Pop Flamer, to name a few. If you’re in the mood for something other than SEGA, though, there are other classics like Galaga, Defender, Ring King and Q*Bert.

Apparently, not all games are currently playable as they’re running in a Javascript version of MAME, and The Internet Arcade curator, Jason Scott, recommends you play the games in Firefox.

Controller support is also available, but you might want to check Scott’s blog post for a detailed explanation on how to best get everything working.

You can visit The Internet Arcade right here, and what’s best, it’s on free play!
